Why Best Drive

A mobile service with a real base behind it.

Plenty of people will come to you with a bakkie, a jack and no way of balancing the wheel afterwards. That is not what this is. The van is a working fitment bay, and there is a fitment centre standing behind it.

  • The workshop drives to you. Tyre changer, wheel balancer and compressor, all on board.
  • Balanced, not just fitted. A wheel that goes back on unbalanced shudders at 100km/h and wears out early.
  • Repair before replace. If the puncture can be fixed, we fix it and say so.
  • One visit. We bring the tyres and the batteries with us, so there is no second trip.

Where we work

Sea Point, the seaboard,
and down the coast.

We are based in Sea Point, so most call-outs are a few minutes away — the flats along Beach Road and Regent Road, the offices around Main Road, up into Fresnaye and Bantry Bay, or out along Victoria Road towards Clifton and Camps Bay. That short drive is what makes same-day mobile fitment realistic rather than a promise we cannot keep. If you are outside these areas, ask — it usually depends on the size of the job.

The things people ask us first.

What does "mobile tyre fitment" actually mean?
It means the workshop drives to you. Our van carries a tyre changer, a wheel balancer and a compressor, so the tyres are changed and balanced properly at your house, your office parking or on the roadside — not fitted roughly and "sorted out later".
Do you have a shop, or is it only the van?
Both. The van is what most people use, because it saves them the trip. But there is a real fitment base in Sea Point behind it, so you can bring the car in if that suits you better. You are not dealing with a bakkie and a cellphone number.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Sea Point and most of our call-outs are within about 15km of it — Sea Point, Green Point, Mouille Point, Three Anchor Bay, Bantry Bay, Fresnaye and the rest of the seaboard — plus the City Bowl and down the coast as far as Hout Bay. If you are further out, ask.
How do I find my tyre size?
Look at the sidewall of the tyre already on the car. You are looking for something like 195/65R15. Photograph it and WhatsApp it to 079 732 2421 and we will read it for you.
Do you do batteries as well as tyres?
Yes. The van carries car batteries too, so a car that will not start gets tested and, if that is the problem, fitted with a new battery on the spot. Same call-out.
Can you repair my puncture instead of selling me a tyre?
Where it is safe to, yes, and we will tell you when it is not. Damage in the tread area is usually repairable. Sidewall damage and tyres that have been driven flat are not, and no honest fitment centre will patch those.
